When was the last time part of your meal included a produce that you had grown yourself? Those of you who have eaten something that you grew yourself will agree that there is something very fulfilling and empowering about that experience. I believe that you become more sensitive to food when you take the time to plant something, as you are involved in the entire process. You inevitably have to nurture what you planted via watering. By the time you reap what you have sown, you will have made a connection to the produce. What’s so special about this?
No other food will taste like yours. No supermarket fruit or vegetables will have the same meaning to you as something you’ve grown. You don’t need to own acres of land to grow food. You can even grow food in a pot on your balcony if that’s all the space you have. I strongly recommend that you try it. Let the planting begin!
